PROGRAMS

We create programs that confront systemic exclusion while offering Black artists the space, resources, and critical support to refine their practice, sharpen their tools, and define their work on their own terms.

Artist Talks

Public conversations featuring artists, curators, organizers, and cultural workers exploring history, contemporary art, creative practice, advocacy, and community-centered cultural work. Artist Talks create space for dialogue, critical exchange, and deeper engagement with the ideas shaping artists and cultural communities.

Exhibitions

Exhibitions that expand visibility while creating space for experimentation, dialogue, and public engagement. Through collaborative partnerships and site-responsive activations, exhibitions connect artists to new audiences, conversations, and expanded opportunities.

Art Auction

The annual fundraiser supports future artist opportunities, public programs, and organizational sustainability.

Artist in Residence

Provides artists with time, space, mentorship, and public engagement opportunities to support the development of new work and creative research. Residencies prioritize experimentation, community connection, and sustainable support for Black artists at various stages of their practice.

SACRAMENTO ARTS ADVOCACY LAB

A pilot advocacy and civic engagement program connecting artists and cultural workers to policy education, mentorship, legislative engagement, and organizing opportunities shaping arts and culture funding and advocacy.

Black Artist Fund vol. 4

Provides direct financial support to artists through unrestricted funding.
